Using smilies in your blog

Written on May 13, 2008 – 6:01 pm | by Roman |

When occasionaly reading John Chow’s blog I have noticed that he likes to use emoticons inside his posts. It’s pretty cool in my opinion but I have always thought that John does this by adding the image files of emoticons manually.

Well I was wrong.

It turns out that Wordpress has support for a range of smileys - you just need to know the right code to enter in your post. For example to get Financial Jesus’s favorite emoticon   is what you need to write.

I blatantly made a screenshot of available emoticons at Using Smilies on wordpress.org

It seems that you are enjoying what I’m writing. Why not subscribe to our full feed RSS.
