What’s your default homepage?

Written on May 27, 2008 – 12:39 pm | by Roman |

I know for a fact that a lot of readers here at FinancialJesus.com have a blog of their own that they wish to make big one day! There are a lot of people who would like to make blogging their primary income!

But let me ask you this - is your heart really in it?

The best time to get started is right now

While starting my blog 16 days ago (yes I count days 8) ) I added my new blog as my browsers default homepage. Every time I open the internet www.financialjesus.com pops up.

At the time it just seemed the right thing to do and I never really thought about it… until today :)

Adding your own website as your default homepage is a great idea.

If you have a website and you don’t want to set it as your default homepage why do you think that someone else would like to come and read it?

That’s right. When you don’t want to see your blog, why do you think that other people should? After all, its your baby and you always love your kids more than your neighbours. Chances are that when you absolutely love your blog, the people reading it like it only a little and when you like it a little your readers will probably hate it! That means they won’t come back!

Adding FinancialJesus.com as my default homepage has got to be one of the best decisions I have made.

Keep yourself focused

Seeing my website every time I open the browser reminds me of my promise to myself - I will write 3 posts every working day. Seeing my front page without any new posts reminds me of this promise!

Is your website your default homepage?

Nice idea. Myself, I have a hotlink to my blog, but I’ve always kept Google as my home page just for convenience. I like your creative photos.

The photos are here for a reason - I’m trying to build a somewhat recognizable brand out of FinancialJesus.com
Although it probably takes years I have a feeling that its worthwhile!

Yea, your dead on again Roman(I may start calling you Jesus again) I do the same thing, for the same reason, keep it in front of you. You post way more. I am working on ads for magazines to have people send me a buck. Where do you get your Photos?

LOL at “I am working on ads for magazines to have people send me a buck”

The photos are actually a sensitive issue. Currently I am stealing them from Flickr.com

I know that it can’t be this way for ever and I would need to start asking people’s permission but that’s a time consuming process…

I think the first thing I should start doing is start crediting the authors of the pictures. That will make it a little easier on my conscious.
