I have noticed that a number of aggregators who are republishing my feed without asking permission (a) sell advertising and don’t share any revenue with me, the content’s author, and (b) add advertising links to my text which alters the appearance and tone of my original text.

I am not saying that I would not give permission to republish my feed. That’s not the issue. There are aggregators out there that I have authorized to republish my feed.

The issue is that some aggregators are just republishing the content of others in order to make advertising revenue, are not sharing any of that revenue with the originators of the content, and are altering the appearance of the original text by adding in-text advertising links.

I will happily give up the opportunity to be republished by such aggregators, especially those who are heavy republishers of porno feeds.

In my opinion it is always a good idea to give everyone your full feed RSS. This means that potentially more people read your content and if they like what you write, they will click on a link to check out the original source for more!

Some of these sites are aggregators and republishers of feeds that are submitted to them. If they are republishing a full text feed (without asking for permission) why would anyone then visit the original source?

Thanks for your comment Article Shark! While doing research for this post I found 4 or 5 different programs that allow submitting your RSS feeds but since all of them were inadequate for my need (costing money or not working properly) I decided not to list them here. I also tried to left out RSS Directories that required some sort of time consuming registration. By the way, where did you find the link to FinancialJesus.com? Was it one of the article directories… ?

This is a good list. It deserves to be bookmarked. I vaguely remember this but I think there’s a software that automatically submits feeds to many of these.
