An outlook with which I agree. Money is simply a tool; nothing more and nothing less. And depending on how you use this tool (as with all tools) will dictate your results.

I enjoy reading your optimistic outlook on making money and becoming rich. Anyone can make money, you just need the drive to do it.

I think that the law of attraction has a vital role to play in anything we want to achieve in our lives. I believe so, because I have seen the law of attraction work on numerous occasions in my life!
If you want something bad enough you will find a way how to get it.
You cant however become rich when you live in such a poor environment that it makes you think that you can't become rich. That's why there are so many poor people. But all it takes is a change in you mind! This change is hard to come though!

Can anyone make money? Yes and no, I think.

Alot more needs to be taken into consideration than just a person's attitude to want to make money. At some level, though, this is true.

But true poverty, at the level seen in certain African countries, and social poverty (psychological and physically abusive environments), along with short-sighted thinking and a lack of education are all huge contributor's to one's state of mind.

Ultimately I think it's correct that "anyone can make money" but the rags to riches stories we like to celebrate distort the picture a bit. While it's possible (so many things are logically possible), it doesn't mean it's probable.

I just wouldn't want to simplify the question too much.

What do you think about the role of the law of attraction here?

I would not say that happiness is subjective - it is a certain state that everyone knows and it is universal. One feels happy or one does not. What is subjective/personal is what makes one happy. As far as what I have seen in DK - people are so nurtured that they loose the ability to cope with difficulties - something bad happens and this has a big impact because (people loose their artificial balance) people are not used to unfavorable things happening to them - these things happen anyway :) I would call it ignorance.

Actually the way GDP is measured has also gotten some criticism and one can twist the numbers via manipulation of yearly accounts - even in cases where there are strict rules about such things. I am sure you have heard/read of cases where stock market companies have played around with their numbers to seem more competitive :)

Happiness is way more subjective than GDP, so I doubt that any country would start monitoring it's happiness level any time soon!
It is also interesting to note, that Denmark is the most happy country in the world, but at the same time it has the 23rd highest suicide rate.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate I've always had the feeling that suicides are done by people who are unhappy, but who knows maybe people in Denmark are so happy, that it's killing them

Yes. I see the happiness here in Denmark - if happiness means raping mother earth then it is happiness :) Consumption freaks are all over the place :p The good thing is that it can't last forever...

sometimes it seems that a country is another name for a company... :p As you mentioned GHL should be connected to GDP. I say that a happiness measures should at least equal in importance compared to GDP.

Yea, I have to agree with both of you. We should try starting a happiness revolution. "Make Happiness now ask me how" or how about, "Got Happiness", Vote for Happiness"
I cut this from your link Roman.
“Happiness is there for the taking in America,” Weiner writes. “You just need the willpower to find it, and enough cash.”

Thats sad. We rank 17th I thought it would be a little higher.
GDP, should be combined with "GHL" "gross happiness level"
Maybe we can get the World Governments to start monitoring that so they know if they are doing a good job. Wait, why would they do that...
