10. Switzerland – $39,800 (GDP per capita)
This cheese making country is considered to be one of the most neutral countries in the world. During World War 2, people from other European countries deposited their money in the banks of Switzerland, knowing that their money would be safer there than in their home countries. Some well known Swiss companies include Nestle, Logitech, Rolex and Credit Suisse.
9. Equatorial Guinea – $44,100
The Republic of Equatorial Guinea is a country in Central Africa. Most people have never heard of it. This country flew into stardom after 1996 when large oil reserves were found in the nation of only 0,5 million people. While being one of the largest producers of oil in Africa, little has been made to improve the living conditions of the people. I went through all the comments and found very interesting chain of comments by Indians especially those who call themselves to be proud Indians and a rich country. I would like to correct those assholes who are living in fools paradise. Yes they are proud of being Indians because they worship cows, monkeys, snakes, idols and most special of all they worship penis too. This is what they are proud of.
2ndly they are proud because they cal themselves rich again they are idiots. There is no doubt they have a few billionaires but it does not mean that they are rich. Those few billionaires don’t count because India is a country of over a billion too. Those who are proud Indian did ever pay their attention to those who are living in dirty huts and remote area of their proud homeland. Besides those huts, dirty area of Mumbai, many people live in a one bed room apartment. If these Indians are proud of this, then I feel pitty for them. Actually they should be ashamed of what they are proud of. Also they should open their eyes and upgrade the memory of their upstairs. I am very sorry to say that they are ignorant and don’t have a little bit sence to determine the definition of rich. To make you aware you proud Indians, rich countries are a USA, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, China, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Muscat, Dubai, Behrain, Abu Dhabi, Papau New Guinea and their are a few more.
Let me tell you very clearly you proud Indians, you are beggers and will remain beggers for next century. Don’t be surprised that I called you begger, like it or not I can proove it.
Listen proud Indians, your economy is a bubble for the time being because and it is being supported by the American Companies. If you want to know how, here is the answer for your information. Almost all the customer service jobs are shifted to India and that’s why your economy is flourishing otherwise whatever you produce and export is not good enough to compete in the international market. You are dreaming to be chinese, again you are living in fools paradise. Let me tell you China can buy you out very easily. Producing software does not make India a rich country. You styill import 90% of heavy Industry from developed nations, you import techonology, know how and other necessary stuff from other parts of the world and you call yourselves rich. Here is a piece of advice for you, please come out of rich phobia and have courage to face the reality.

This is in response to aswin Mishra who is very upsent and says that the people are jealous who speak the truth in saying that India is not a rich country. I agree with you Mitra that India is a developing country but not a rich country. Let me be clear to you once again that India is not a rich country and people are not jealous because you are a third world counry which is in the list of developing countries and you still have a lot to do to become a rich country. Whatever I said in my comments earlier is a truth and if you want to hear it again I will explain it to you. Inida is not a rich country because no one comes to India for work except people from Bangladesh or may be from Nepal. Producing software does not make Inida rich. Let me tell you one thing very clearly that your economy is based on the Indian who live in foreign countries and send their remittenances to India. In reality those are the rich countries where Indians work and make their living as well as send the money to their love ones in India.
Let me give you the detail of those rich countries where Inidans work and i.e USA, Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zeland, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Behrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and there are a few others too which you are not aware off. Indians porduce softwares for export but I will suggest them to produce a software to fix the virus in their brains because they are infected. Mitra, let me ask you this question, how many people come to India for work from the countries I mentioned above? I will accept from bottom of my heart that India is a rich country if one person come to India for job.
3rdly India is getting favors from the anti Islamic countries because of their idealogy and that is the reason that India is among developing countries. As I mentioned in my first comment that all the customer service jobs from USA, Canada and Britain are shifted to India which is helping India to earn more dollars. I don’t agree that India is a self sufficient country, honestly speaking India is a dependent country and needs more time to become self sufficient.
In the end I would suggest to the proud Indians to wake up and have courage to welcome the criticisim which is healthy for them.

Only a developing country has additional employment/business oppurtunities. India has clocked a GDP growth of 7.9% (year on year) in second fiscal quarter. when determing how rich a country is, we must also take into consideration the overall GDP size of the country, gini coeffeicient (distribution of that GDP), human development index and other variables. i am not saying India is the wealthiest country (god willing will get there, has the potential) but it’s not as low as 135 (or so) that you have marked.
