A poor journalism student from Moldova was baffled to find out that his uncle who he had only seen twice over a decade ago, had died and left him a fortune.
The student Sergey Sudev inherited a staggering 950 million euros or 1.3 billion dollars from his uncle living in Berlin, Germany.
Sergey had met his uncle only twice – over 10 years ago but must have made a great last impression. After their meeting Sergey’s uncle included him immediately in his will but of course kept it to himself.
Currently Sergey Sudev is the richest man in Moldova. The amount he inherited – 950 million euros – is bigger than the yearly budget of the entire country of Moldova.
Sergey has set his mind on finishing his journalism degree. He said that his life had not changed yet, except for the fact that his friends and fellow town people shower him with requests of financial help. Also, he has noticed a lot of people trying to become his friends – especially young women.
For the time being Sergey continues his work as a DJ in a local radio station in Komrat, Moldova. His salary is a bit below average – 150 euros per month (203 dollars). The average person in Moldova makes 270 euros per month (366 dollars).
The fortune Sergey’s uncle left him contains 950 million euros, a controlling shareholding of a German bank, bank deposits, jewelry and real estate in Germany, Italy and France.
