People are in essence herd animals - we need a leader, we need to follow someone. 
In any group there are less leaders than followers - although I believe that admitting that you are a follower is the first step towards becoming a leader!</description>

		<description>The problem is discerning what is something that qualifies as &quot;too good to give up&quot;, and what does not.  It&#039;s no different than the classic question of &quot;want&quot; versus &quot;need&quot;.

The reason most people are unwilling to decide what is too good to good to give up is that it will force them to admit that they indulge in things that they should give up.  In other words, they have to admit to their own weakness and lack of financial discipline.  This is something that requires a strong sense of self, which most people lack.  They would much rather go along with what everyone else is doing than question it.  This includes so-called needs like cable TV, the latte factor, new cars with all the fancy features, brand-name clothing, frequently eating out, etc...</description>
