And to think that everyone of those pennies have a minute intrinsic value that when considered individually is insignificant yet when taken collectively they are very powerful. It gives new meaning to the legend inscribed on each coin, “E Pluribus Unum.”

FYI, it is a Holocaust memorial housed in a JCC, not sure where. I don’t know the dimensions, but there is a picture of a person standing next to it at http://www.kmoser.com/onemillionpennies/

I think there are – I have traveled quite a bit and crossing the border you are always required to declare your money if you have more than a certain amount with you.
I think these laws are in place because of money laundering.

Hmm yes, the fact that pennies are worth more as metal than they are as pennies just gave me an idea – we should export pennies to Mexico or Canada and sell them as metal. I doubt that they have laws against that in other countries….
